Registration is open to Southington resident children ONLY, ages 5 & up. Flotation devices of any kind (life jackets, arm floaties, etc.) are NOT permitted to be worn during lessons.
Class/skill level options are as follows:
- Beginner (Level 2): Children will be taught to be more comfortable and independent in the water. They will learn to float and kick.
- Advanced Beginner (Level 3): Children should be able to swim on their own, above water, for at least 5-10 feet to be in this class.
- Intermediate (Level 4): Children will learn how to perform strokes properly; diving into pool.
- Swimmer (Level 5): Strokes are refined; laps are swum.
- Advanced Swimmer (Level 6): Children should be able to swim laps for greater distances.
Payment must be submitted directly to the RECREATION OFFICE (online, by mail, or in person at 388 Pleasant Street) prior to the first class. Payment CANNOT be made at the pool.
